Which foods can fight ageing?Tips for anti-ageing meals



Certain foods are rich in antioxidants.Antioxidants are substances that neutralize free radicals-chemicals that damage cells in the body and thus aggravate ageing and disease.
The main antioxidants are: vitamin A,vitamin E,beta-carotene and minerals selenium and zinc.
Some phytochemicals such as lycopene are also antioxidants.

To get maximum benefit from antioxidants follow the next tips:
  • Make sute to eat planty of fresh fruits and vegetables
  • Since vitamin E is one of nature's best antioxidants,do not eliminate olive and rapeseed oil from your diet.
  • Try to reduce the amount of work antioxidants have to do by preventing the build up of free radicals.Do not smoke,do not spend to long time in the sun and keep away from polluted areas.

Tips in transforming a snak or a meal to a pack of antioxidants:
  • cube a orange fleshed melon
  • strawberry smoothie
  • mashed avocado on a toasted bagel
  • grilled salmon on a bed of salad leaves,red pappers,tomatoes,sprinkled with ground linseed
  • a mixture of broccoli,peas and cauliflower,served hot or cold
