Eating in front of TV or eating away from home the cause for weight gain.Tips to avoid unhealthy habits

In the world today the number of meals eaten away from home continues to rise.
According to recent research, this trend is most likely due to the increase in the number of two career families, who have very little time for food shopping and preparing and cooking meals at home during the week.
It may be that you frequently have to eat away from home because of your work schedule or lifestyle.

Being aware of the pitfalls will enable you to make healthy choices.

For example, you could choose a grilled chicken sandwich instead of a cheese tropped burger and order small portion or share larger ones.Instead of having chips, you can opt for a side salad, which is nutritions and much lower in fat.

Restaurant meals usually contain more fat and therefore more calories are often larger than those served a starter when eating out,or to eat only part of what you are served.
  • Try to control the portion sizes by feeling obliged to eat everything on your plate.Stop eating when you feel full.
  • Wherever possible, choose food that is grilled, poached or baked, rather than fried,as the later will be high in calories and saturated fat content.
  • Order sauces and salad dressing "on the side" and choose fruit for dessert,or better skip it.

Pizza and fast food restaurants are frequent sources of food consumed away from home. When you are eating in these places, beware of "supersize" portions and "value meals" or "meal deals, for example : double cheeseburger, extra large fries and large fizzy drinks.
Deals such this are marketed together to seem like a bargain and therefore offer a financial incentive to consume more food than you would otherwise have bought or eaten.

It is well documented that the more television you watch, the more likely you are to be overweight, with all the negative implications for health that this bring with it.
Excessive television watching and computer use have been linked to the increased in numbers of overweight children and adolescents.

  • A sensible recommendation to follow is that children should be limited to no more than 2 hours per day of watching television and videos and watching computers.
  • To achive this try to limit the time your whole family spend watching television or using the computer and find more active ways of using leisure time.
  • You may also try to be more active while you watch television. For example you can buy an exercise bike or treadmill and use it while you view.If this sound too strenuous you can do the ironing or some light cleaning or lift light weights while sitting.

Is a vegetarian diet healthier?

Not all the vegetarians follow the same dietary restrictions:lacto-vegetarians include dairy but no flesh, such as meat, chichen or fish.
Ovo-vegetarians include eggs in their diet, but avoid all other animal foods.
Lacto- and ovo-vegetarians include both dairy and/or eggs, while vegans don't eat any animal products at all.
Because of the limitations of vegetarians dietts, careful planning is needed to avoid the nutritional defeciencies that can otherwise occur.Becoming a vegetarian.however, is not difficult and there is no question that well-designed vegetarian diets are healthy for more people, including pregnant women and children.

Benefits of vegetarianism

The diets of people who eat less animal protein and more plant based protein tend also to contain less fat and cholesterol and more dietary fibre.
This may explain why vegetarians have lower total and LDL-cholesterol level and lower rates of cardiovascular disorders, such as high blood pressure and heart attack, obesity, diabetes and colon cancer than those who eat meat.
It is not clear however, wheter these health benefits are do solely to the diet or are linked to factors such as regular exercise, lack of smoke or low alcohol intake.

While vegetarian diets that include cheese and eggs will be easier to balance nutritionally than those that include all animal products ,vegetarians must still plan their diets carefully to obtain all the nutritients they need.
For example, iron, which helps red blood cells to carry oxygen to the tissues,is present in both plant and animal foods, but haem iron (which is obtain from animal products) is more readily absorbd by the body than the iron that is obtain from plants.
Vitamin B12 is found only in animals foods and fortified soya products.Because this vitamin is required for the functioning of the nervous system, vegans may require in order to avoid deficiency.

How to combine plant proteins

Plant based foods are described as incomplete sources of protein as (with the exeption of soya) they contain insufficient amounts of one or more essential amino acids. They can be combined to form good quality protein, because different amino-acids are missing from each food source.
Pulses (including soya beans products) should form the basis of your main meal.Simply add a grain and/or a seed or nut and the meal will provide good quality protein.

EMERGENCY AND FIRST AID : Mouth to mouth breathing maneuver (till the medical help is offered)

If is deprived of oxygen, the brain suffers irreversible damage at the end of only 4 minute!
Cessation of breathing train very fast death and therefore is emergency necessary to inspire air in the lungs of the victim.

1.The first act is to remove from the mouth anything that might possibly prevent entry of the air.Twist a clean tissue especially on two fingers to move and shoot the tongue.

2.Invert the victim's head back, with the chin up and neck supported.Mantain the victim's head back by placing under the neck a rolled cloth. With the thumb and forefinger squeeze the victim's nose for the air installed in his mouth to not escape before reaching in the lungs.
When it can not be practiced breathing mouth to mouth, mouth to nose maneuvered is required, maintaining this time the victim's lips closed.

3.
Apply suction cup lips form around the mouth of the victim, kept open the mouth using the other hand that keep supporting the chin too.

4.Blow air in 4 times until the chest is rised. The air will come out then and the chest will replapse. If the chest breathing is resumed naturally, restart maneuver (without to be discouraged until the arrival of medical ) every 3 seconds.

When the victim resumes normal breathing place it in the lateral safety position and do not stop monitoring the victim, if breathing maneuver weakens resume the maneuver.

Malignant melanoma and other skin diseases.Make the difference of skin diseases by their type of manifestation (symptoms)

Sunlight is a major cause, particularly in the early years, for malignant melanoma.

It may occur in pre-existing moles.Pay attention in size, shape and colour changes, inflammation, crusting or bleeding, asymetry, irregular colour, elevation, irregular border.

Neighbouring "satellite" lesions may occur. If smooth,well-demarcated and regular,it is unlikly to be a melanoma.

Squamous cell cancer
This usually presents as an ulcerated lesion, with hard, raised edges. They may be found in the lips of smokers or in long standing garvitational leg ulcers.Metastases are rare, but local destruction may be extensive. As treatment is recommanded the total excision.
The condition may be confused with keratoacanthoma-a fast growing benign, self limiting, papule plugged with keratin.
Basal cell carcinoma
Typically ,pearly nodule with rolled, telangiectatic edge uaually on the face.Metastases are very rare.It is locally destructive epithelioma (if left untreated).Lesions on truck may appearas red scaly plaques with rased smooth edge. The cause of basal cell carcinoma is UV exposure.
As treatment is recommanded excision and radiotherapy can be used for large lesions in the elderly.
Bowen's disease
Slow growth red scaly plaque, full thickness, dyspalsia.
Actinic keratoses appear in sun exposure skin as crumbly,yellow-white crusts.Malignant changes may occur.
Secondary carcinoma
The most common metastases to skin are from breast, kidney and lungs. The lesion is usually a firm nodule, most often in the scalp.
Mycasis fungoides
Is a lymphoma which is usually confined to skin.It causes itchy, red plaques.
Leukoplakia
This appears as white patches which may fissure on oral or genital mucosa (where it may itch).
Syphilis
Any genital ulcer is syphilis until proved otherwise.Secondary syphilis:popular rush including, unusually in the palms.

Symptoms of an ill traveller. Diagnosing the tropical traveller

In every ill traveller is necessary to consider the symptoms thatt may reveal a tropical disease:

Malaria
It presents with fever,rigors,headache,dizzines,flulike symtopms,diarrhea.
Mosquitos may stowaway in luggage causing malaria in non -tropical areas.
Typhoid
It presents with fever, relative bradicardia (low heart rate),abdominal pain, dry cough, constipation, lymphodenophaty (lymph nodes abnormal in size),headache and rarely rose spots.
Dengue fever
Its presents with fever,headache,myalgia,skin rush,pallor.
Amoebic liver abscess
Presents with fever,jaudince,upper abdomen pain.

Travelling to a tropical area does not mean that having fever or headche symptoms are signs of a tropical disease, that's why is necessary to have a doctor visit a the necessary investigations in establishing the exact diagnosis in time, prevent catching a tropical disease by vaccination before travveling and avoid as much as possible contact with contaminated food and water.

Which foods can fight ageing?Tips for anti-ageing meals

Certain foods are rich in antioxidants.Antioxidants are substances that neutralize free radicals-chemicals that damage cells in the body and thus aggravate ageing and disease.
The main antioxidants are: vitamin A,vitamin E,beta-carotene and minerals selenium and zinc.
Some phytochemicals such as lycopene are also antioxidants.

To get maximum benefit from antioxidants follow the next tips:
  • Make sute to eat planty of fresh fruits and vegetables
  • Since vitamin E is one of nature's best antioxidants,do not eliminate olive and rapeseed oil from your diet.
  • Try to reduce the amount of work antioxidants have to do by preventing the build up of free radicals.Do not smoke,do not spend to long time in the sun and keep away from polluted areas.

Tips in transforming a snak or a meal to a pack of antioxidants:
  • cube a orange fleshed melon
  • strawberry smoothie
  • mashed avocado on a toasted bagel
  • grilled salmon on a bed of salad leaves, red pappers, tomatoes, sprinkled with ground linseed
  • a mixture of broccoli, peas and cauliflower, served hot or cold
  • a handfull of baby carrots or almonds
  • spinach souteed in olive oil with garlic, then sprinkled with lemon juice and Parmesan cheese
  • a mixed salad with tomatoes, celery, sweet corn and broccoli
  • sliced orange for dessert
  • fresh berries in your cereals
  • bread stick with tomato salsa.

The body need for fats. Which fats are vital for healthy body functioning?

Part of a group of compounds known as lipids and composed of the elements carbon, oxygen and hydrogen, fats are found mainly in plants, fits and meats. They form a major part of all cell membranes in the body and play a vital role in the absorbtion of the fat soluble vitamin A,D,E and K from foods.
Fat gives the body insulation, helping to maintain a constant temperature against extremes of hot and cold.It is also serves as an important source of energy.

In addition to fats, lipids include phospholipids, tryglicerides, waxes and sterols. The most known sterol is cholesterol which circulates in the blood attached to compounds known as lipoproteins.
Low density lipoproteins (LDL) which carry cholesterol in tissues and organs are often called "bad" cholesterol, since high levels in the blood are associated with an increased risk of cardiovascular disease.

High density lipoproteins (HDL),which carry cholesterol away from the tissue and back to the liver are known as "good" cholesterol, since high level decrease the risk of cardiovascular disease.

Fats are also referred to as "good" or "bad" according to whether their chemical bond are "saturated" with hydrogen.Unsaturated fats are further classified into mono and polyunsaturated, which differ in their nutritional makeup.

Avoid saturated fats

With the exception of palm and coconut oil, most saturated fats are derived from animal and dairy products.Red meat and meat products such as sausages are major sources of saturated fat in the diet, along with whole milk and its products, such as cheese, cream and ice cream.
Excessive intake of saturated fats and trans fatty acids are now belived to increase the risk of cardiovascular disease by raising the unhealthy LDL levels,so they should be restricted in the diet.

Unsaturated fats

A diet high in monounsaturated fats which are found in plant oils, avocados and nuts, helps lower levels of LDL and triglycerides in the blood, without lowering healthy HDL levels.
Polyunsaturated fats consist of two major types: omega 3 fatty acids, found in fish oils and omega 6 fatty acids, found in vegetables oils such as sunflower, rapeseed and corn.Your diet should include both types.

Trans fatty acids

These occur naturally (in small amounts) in meat and dairy products, but they are also produced during the process of hydrogenation, which is used to convert semi-solid fats in the manufacture of some types of margarine.
Trans fats are most commonly found in biscuits, cakes, pastries, meat pies, sausages, crackers and take away foods.
Although chemically trans fats are still unsaturated fat, studies show that in the body they behave like saturated fats, causing blood cholesterol level to rise.In fact some studies suggest that trans fats are worse than saturated fats.

Eggs and health

Eggs contain all the essential amino acids in the correct proportions and are a good source of complete protein. They are also a significant source of vitamin B2,B12,D,E and folate in addition to iron.
The iron in eggs yolks, like the iron find in meat,is easily absorbed by the body.
Eggs contain other vitamins and minerals in smaller amounts, including vitamin B1 and B6,phosphorus and zinc.Eggs are also one of the best sources of choline,a substance involved in transport of fat in body.Choline is also important for the manufacture of phospholipids, which are the major structural components of cell membranes.
Most of the vitamins and minerals in eggs are found in the yolk, but the white is also a good source of protein and contains little fat and no cholesterol.

Of all the foods that are eaten today, eggs are the main source of cholesterol.Yet,eggs are relatively low in calories and saturated fat (egg white does not contain any fat).
Nutritionists use to advice that eating eggs should be limited, but this advice has been revised.Research also shows that there is no link between egg consumption and risk of cardiovascular disease.

Cholesterol is not found in large amounts in many foods, exept in eggs and in offal such as liver and kidneys. The cholesterol in these foods does not usually make a great contribution to blood cholesterol levels. If you have a high level of blood cholesterol is wise to limit eggs to about three a week.If you need to reduce the blood cholesterol level you have to reduce the total amount of fat you eat..Eating a high fiber diet may also help to reduce the amount of cholesterol that is alsorbed into bloodstream.

There is no limit in how much white egg you can eat,so look at ways how to use more egg white in your cooking.
When cooking eggs avoid adding butter and cheese, which will add saturated fat.

Some eggs may contain salmonella bacteria, which can couse serious illness.Symptoms of salmonella poisoning include  abdominal pain, vomiting and diarrhea.
In order to minimize your risk at infection, always store the eggs in refrigirator and wash your hands after handling eggs.Cook the eggs till both yolk and white are firm.
Babies and toddlers, pregnant women and thos ewho are already unwell should not consume raw egg  (home made mayonnaise, ice cream and mouse).

Personality disorders. How to recognize paranoid type of people in everyday life

Paranoids can't tolerate ambiguity. In their minds nothing is accidental or random, everything means something and everything relates to everything else.
This sort of thinking can lead to genius or to psychosis, depending on how it is used.
Paranoid  see things that other people can't,but do the things they see realy exist?

The word "paranoia" means "thinking beside oneself" and has been used by people who treat personality disorders to describe virtually all forms of craziness, especially those involving false beliefs.
The problem with the concept is that is not so simple to determine which beliefs are false and which are true.
Paranoia is easier to understand looking at the patterns of thimking that lead to false beliefs, rather than at the beliefs themselves.Paranoids are blessed and cursed with the ability to perceive very tiny cues, they drive themselves crazy by trying to organize details into coherent and unambiguous whole.

Paranoids compulsion to organize may have their roots at the neurological level and such a behaviour creates tremendous problem in relating with human beings.
When paranoids look at other people they see too much for their own good and everybody else's.
A paranoid person sees the human condition in all its ambiguous details.People exist in many different levels at the same time,no human thought is singular and no feeling is pure. Many of the conflicts that people experience are observable in slight hesitations, small changes in expression and most people ignore these tiny cues.Paranoids try to sort them in love and hate, yes or no,truth or falsehood.

Paranoids see the confusing and uncertain details of life so clearly.Later, they drain you with endless probing of the uncertainly they perceive in you.Paranoids can feel like they are at the center of a vast conspiracy, they become guarded and suspicious.Paranoid people search in vain for purity and truth.
Truth, loyality, courage, honor and the like are not abstration in the minds of paranoids, they are living, breathing presence that these people live by and will die for if called upon to do so.At least, that's the way paranoids themselves imagine it.In reality the paranoids are just as likely as anybody else to justify their self-serving actions, but they have a utter certainty of their own virtue.
Aside from their questionable approch to morality, paranoids are capable of extreme purity of thought. They vacillate between extreme naivete and utter cynicism.Their goal is to achieve happy world, family, business in which everyone follows the same rigid rules as they do.When poeple go along paranoids are happy, loving and giving. If other people want to think and act for themselves, paranoids take it as personal insult.

What is like to be paranoid?
Imagine a first time date with a person you like, you talk of nothing in particular, yet you desperately search every word of your companion for clues to what he or she really thinks about you. You're happy at tiny signs of acceptance and you are sad at the slightest hint of rejection.
This is the usual "business" of paranoids, they analyze every conversation in categories.
Paranoids long to make sense for themselves and to be understood by others. This selfish quest can bring suffering to the humanity or great gifts in the form of art and philosophy.Paranoia and narcissism are the world's two main source of creativity.

How to protect yourself from paranoid people
Paranoid people live in a alternative universe in which everything is wonderful as long as everyone is faithful to them. The certainty of their world can be very attractive from the outside, but once you go in,it is hard to get out. Before get in paranoid world be sure in what you're getting into.If you're in already.remember don't hide anything, the paranoid will find it and be loyal, but never accept the borden of proving your loyality.

Choosing the right milk. How milk is processed

Most milk consumed is cow's milk. However, other milks are available as healthy alternatives:

Cow's milk
Whole or full fat milk has 7.8g of fat/200 ml serving and 132 calories.
The 236 mg calcium content in a serving is slightly less than that in lower fat varieties.

Goat's milk
With slightly less lactose than cow's milk, goat milk contains more vitamin A,B6 and niacin and calcium, potassium, copper and selenium.Full fat goat's milk has about the same amount of fat as cow's milk, but there are skimmed varisions.

Sheep's milk
Rich in protein, fat and minerals, sheep's milk is not widely available. It is most often found made into cheese and yogurt.

Soya milk
This is good for people with lactose intolerance as it does not contain any lactose or casein.
A 200 ml glass contains almost 6.0g of protein,4.8g of fat,no cholesterol and 86 calories.
Soya milk is not a good natural source of calcium or vitamin B12 so choose a fortified variety.

Rice milk
This is good substitute for semi-skimmed cow's milk for people who have allergies or who are lactose-intolerant.

Dat milk
Lactose and cholesterol free and low in fat.Choose varieties fortified with calcium and vtamin D.

Almond milk
Lactose free and low in saturated fat, almond milk is also very low in sugar.

Milk is an ideal drink for children, providing protein, carbohydrate and micronutrients-especially calcium wich helps to bild strong bones.

How milk is processed
To make milk safe for human consumption and more palatable,it is processed in various ways.
-Pasteurization
By heating milk, harmful bacteria and enzymes are destroyed, whitout affecting taste.
-UHT
After being sterilized by this ultra high temperature process, milk can be stored unrefrigerated.
-Homogenization
This process breaks down the milk fat and distibutes it throughout the milk.
-Evaporation
Removing 60% of the water content by heating leaves a concentrated milk.
-Condensation
Up to half the water content is removed, then sugger is added to perserve the milk.

Phytochemicals and health. Prevent and cure cancer with protective chemicals found in foods of plant origin

Phytochemicals, also known as phytonutrients, are naturaly occuring protective chemicals that are found in foods of plant origin.Studies show that there may be as many as 100 different phytochemicals in just one serving of vegetables.
Evidence has shown that people who consume a diet rich in fruits and vegetables are therefor in phytochemicals, have a lower incidence of many disorders, including cardiovascular disease, diabetes and certain types of cancer.
Phytochemicals have an antioxidant effect (opposite) that protects cells from cancer and cardiovascular disease,as well as from urinary tract infections, rheumatoid arthritis and reduced immunity.
Make sure you eat at least five portions of fruits and vegetables a day to get plenty of phytochemicals.

What are the different types of phytochemicals
There are hundreds of phytochemicals found in foods of plant origin. The key benefits of some of the best known phytochemicals are listed below.

Bioflavonoids

They are helpful in the absorption of vitamin C and protect it from oxidation (damage).Citrus fruits, such as lemons, limes, grapefruit and oranges, are particulary good sources of bioflavonoids.
Carotenoids

These may protect against cardiovascular disease.carotenoids are found in orange fleshed melon, carrots, sweet potatoes and butternut squash.
Glucosinolates

Found in vegetables, these help the liver in its detoxification function. They help regulate certain white cells involved in immunity. They may also help reduce tumor growth, particularly in the breast, liver, colon, lung, stomach and oesophagus.
Organosulphides

These gives onions and leeks their pungent odour. They stimulate anti cancer enzymes, slow the formation of blood clots and are known to boost the immunity system.
Phytoestrogens

These protect the body against cardiovascular disease and osteoporosis.Phytoestrogens may also slow the progression of cancer. They are found in soya products and linseeds.
Flavonoids

These may protect the body from iflammations, allergic reactions and viral infections.
Indoles

These phytochemicals are thought to help prevent beast cancer.
Isoflavones

These may inhibit oestrogen-promoted cancer and lower high levels of blood cholesterol.
Limonoids

Find in the peel of citrus fruits, these phytochemicals appear to protect lung issues.
Lycopene

Found in tomatoes these may protect agains cancer of the cervix, stomach, bladder, colon and prostate,as well as cardiovascular disease.
Para-coumaric acid
These phytochemical helps prevent cancer by interfering with the development of cancer-causing nitrosamines in the stomach.
Phenols and polyphenols

These protect plant from chemical damage and performe the same function in humans.Found in tea, polyphenol is thought to protect agains stomach cancer.
Phytosterols

These include stanols, which can reduce the absorption of cholesterol from the diet and therefor lower cholesterol levels in the blood.Stanols are found in soya products and fortified margarines.
Terpenes
These may block action of cancer causing factors (carcinogens) and may inhibit hormon-related cancers such as ovarian cancer.

Phytochemicals are found in all foods of plant origin. The following plant foods are thought to contain particularily beneficial phytochemicals:
-whole grains
-broccoli
-brussels sprouts
-cauliflower
-citrus fruits
-dark green leafy vegetables
-garlic
-tea
-herbs and spices
-onion
-tomatoes
-soya beans
-wine

Disorders of urinary system.Who is most at risk of developing urinary disorders?

The urinary system rids your body of waste,so it is crucial that functions well.

The urinary system, also known as the urinary tract, consist of a pair of kidneys, the bladder, the ureters, which connect each kidney to the bladder and the urethra, through which urine leaves the body.
Most kidney diseases affects the filtration capacity of the kidneys, causing them to lose function.
Kidney disorders are broadly classified as acute (the sudden failure of the kidney, which may be fatal) or there may ba a gradual reduction in fucntion over months or years,in which case it is chronic.
Although the urinary system is structured in a way that help ward off infection, infections can occur.
They are caused by germs that get into the urethra, which can spread to the kidneys.

Urinary tract infections

Infections can occur if bacteria get into the body via the bloodstream or the urethra.Urinary tract infections (UTI's) are more common in women.
Despite containing fluids, salts and waste products, urine is sterile (free from germs such as bacteria). An infection occurs only when bacteria begin to grow.A woman's urethral opening lies near sources of bacteria from the anus and vagina.
Infections often start in the urethra. From there, the bacteria can move up into the bladder, causing an infection (cystitis). If the infection si not treated,it can spread to the kidneys, causing pyelonephritis, which is serious and can demage the kidneys.

Who is most at risk of developing urinary disorders?

Diet and lifestyle:
People who live n hot climates and who are susceptible to kindney stones are at increased risk if they do not drink enough fluids to replace that lost through perspiration.
Gender and age:
About 20% of women will contract a urinary tract infection (UTI) at some point in their life. The reason for this are not fully understood, although it may because a woman's urethra is short, allowing bacteria quick access to the bladder.Kidney stones are more common in Caucasians,in men and in those between the age of 20 and 40.
Family history:
You are more likly to develop a stone if someone in your family has had a kidney stone.Similarly, anyone who has a kidney stone is at increased risk of having an other .
Other factors:
Any abnormality of the urinary tract that obstruct the flow of urine (a kidney stone, for exemple) sets the stage for a urinary tract infection.
An enlarged prostate gland can also slow urine flow, thus increasing the risk of infection.Sexually, active woman or those who use a diaphragm for birth control may be more likly to have a UTI.
People with diabetes have a higher risk of a UTI because of changes in their immune system.
People with ulcerative colitis or Crohn's diseases,or who have had intestinal bypass surgery for weight loss, are at risk of developing oxalate kidney stones and those poeple may be prescribed preventive treatment.
People with diabetes or high blood pressure,or who have suffered repeated kidney infections are at greatest risk of developing kidney failure.

Red meat: good or bad? Which meat should you choose?

Protein-rich,but also high in saturated fat,red meat should be eaten sparingly.

Red meat which includes: beef, lamb, veal and pork is an excellent source of protein in the diet.On the other hand,it is also a major source of unhealthy saturated fat.
The balance of good health recommends that you should eat at least two serving per day from the protein group, which includes red meat. Many people, however, eat a great deal more meat than this.
Some studies show that people who eat large quantities of red meat on a daily basis have a higher incidence of cardiovascular disease than those who eat it less often.
The relationship between red meat and cardiovascular disease is believe to be due to the high saturated fat and cholesterol content of these meats. There is also evidence to suggest that a high intake of red meat may increase your risk of colon cancer.
Not surprisingly, people who replace red meat with fish and chicken have been found to have lowered their risk of cardiovascular disease and colon cancer. For these reasons,it's a good idea to choose to eat lower fat sources of protein.

Which meat should you choose?

Whether is a dinner in a restaurant or a barbecue at home, when you are trying to cut back on calories and fat,red meat can pose difficult decisions. If you stick with traditional favourites as beef and lamb, start by choosing cuts with low fat content.
Although in general red meat is high in fat (particulary when is compared with white meat and poultry),very lean red meat (such as fillet steak) has a lower fat and calorie content than roast dark meat chicken (legs and wings) eaten with teh skin.

Other types of meat

Game, such as venison, wild boar, rabbit and more recently, buffalo, has meat that is reach and full of flavour.Because these animals get more exercise, their meat is leaner and lower in fat than beef, lamb and pork, and thus also lower in calories.
Offal kidneys, liver, tongue, sweetbreads, trotters are nutritious meats, being a good source of many of B vitamins and as well as vitamin A and D and minerals cooper, iron and zinc.
As liver can tend to accumulate chemical residues from the animal,we suggest that you eat only animals auch as calves and lamb.
You should try to avoid to eat to many preserved and processed meat such as bacon, salami, pancetta, sausage, ham and gammon, because they often contain a lot of salt as well as being high in saturated fat.
Many cured meats also contain high level of preservatives.
